The wrong pressure damages more than it cleans, and the damage is not always obvious until primer goes on.

• Stucco: A low-pressure, high-volume wash pulls grit and sand out of the pits without blasting the surface. High pressure on stucco opens hairline cracks and drives water into the wall.
• Cedar and wood siding: On homes out toward Boerne and Helotes, cedar gets soft-washed rather than pressure-washed. Too much pressure raises the grain, and furred wood will not let primer soak in properly.

Why we wait 48 hours before painting

Two things ruin a pre-paint wash: leftover soap film and trapped moisture. Both wreck adhesion, and neither is visible.

• The 48-hour dry rule. We do not paint right after washing. Siding needs roughly 48 hours to dry through in the San Antonio climate, and crews confirm it with moisture meters before any primer goes on.
• Neutralizing rinse. A final rinse balances the surface pH so the cleaning chemistry does not interfere with adhesion.
• Landscape protection. We saturate and cover plants and beds before we start. Sodium hypochlorite damages foliage, and pre-wetting plus covering is what prevents it.
