Interior Painting in San Antonio
Walls, ceilings, trim, and cabinets. Free estimates across San Antonio.
People usually call us when the walls have gone past washing, the trim has yellowed, or they're getting a house ready to sell. We've painted San Antonio interiors since 2015 — walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and baseboards.
Most jobs are two to four rooms rather than whole houses, and we work room by room so the rest of the house stays usable.
What a Typical Interior Job Looks Like
We walk the space with you first, count what needs doing, and give you a written number that doesn't change once work starts.
Before we arrive, clear the shelves and countertops — we handle the furniture. Most two to four room jobs take two to four days, and a whole home runs a week to ten days.
At the end we walk each room with you under bright light and leave a labeled touch-up kit with your colors and sheens.

How We Prepare Your Walls
Most interior paint problems come from what's underneath, not the paint itself.
We patch and sand first — nail holes, scuffs, hairline cracks. Anything bigger than a skim coat is handled as drywall repair, which we do in house rather than subcontracting out. A moisture-resistant primer then goes down before any color, which is what keeps the finish bonded around windows and exterior-facing walls.
If we find moisture coming in from outside, we'll tell you before we quote. Painting over it only buys you a year.
The Paints and Coatings We Use
We use Sherwin-Williams on most jobs. If you'd rather have Benjamin Moore or PPG, we'll work with it.
For bedrooms and nurseries we use low-odor or zero-VOC lines, because the smell is what most people mind. On trim we use non-blocking enamels. Doors painted with the wrong enamel stick to their frames in humidity, and the only real fix after that is repainting them.
Matte, Satin, or Semi-Gloss
A common setup in San Antonio homes: flat on the ceilings, eggshell or satin on the walls, semi-gloss on the trim and in kitchens and bathrooms.
Semi-gloss is what most people land on for a kitchen or bath. It takes moisture and repeated cleaning without going dull. High-gloss looks excellent on a smooth door, but on a rough one it shows every flaw, so we only recommend it where the prep underneath will support it.
Working in an Occupied Home
A paint job shouldn't take over your home for a week. We mask with static-cling plastic and professional tape rather than drop cloths alone. It gives sharper lines and keeps paint off your floors and furniture. When walls need sanding, vacuum-assisted sanders catch the dust before it reaches your HVAC and settles in rooms that were never painted.
What Interior Painting Costs in San Antonio
Most interior work in San Antonio runs $2.50 to $6.00 per square foot, and a whole-home interior usually lands between $4,500 and $8,500. Where your house falls depends mostly on ceiling height, wall condition, how many colors you're running, and how much trim there is.
That's a market range, not a quote. We walk the space and give you a written number that doesn't change once we start.
Homes and Areas We Serve
Vaulted great rooms in Fair Oaks and Boerne custom builds need the right equipment and safety setup. Whole-home refreshes in Stone Oak and Terrell Hills usually run room by room over several days rather than all at once. We also paint interiors in Schertz, Converse, Cibolo, New Braunfels, Bulverde, Selma, and Live Oak.

Paint Finish Guide: Matte vs Semi-Gloss vs High Gloss
Choosing the right sheen makes a big difference in durability and appearance. Here's what our San Antonio painters recommend.

Matte / Flat
Best for: Ceilings, low-traffic rooms, bedrooms
✓ Hides surface imperfections beautifully, gives a soft elegant look
✗ Less washable, shows scuffs more easily
Pro Tip: Use matte on ceilings and pair with a more durable finish on trim for contrast.

Semi-Gloss
Best for: Trim, doors, kitchens, bathrooms
✓ Highly durable and wipeable, resists moisture well
✗ Shows surface imperfections if prep is poor
Pro Tip: Semi-gloss is our most popular finish for kitchens and baths, it handles humidity and cleaning like a champ.

High Gloss
Best for: Statement doors, trim, cabinets
✓ Most durable finish, stunning visual impact, easiest to clean
✗ Highlights every surface flaw, requires the best prep work
Pro Tip: Reserve high gloss for areas with excellent prep. It's the difference between 'wow' and 'why.'
